Agriculture

We value the power of local farmers and communities promoting community-led approaches to sustainable agriculture, local land management, and resilient food systems. Small-scale producers employ traditional and pastoral approaches to land management and food production and implement ecologically-sound farming practices that create sustainable food systems, build up communities, empower farmers and families, and protect and renew the natural environment.

This work stand in contrast to the global industrial food system which bears enormous responsibility for many of the policies, practices, and systems that are exacerbating the climate crisis and contributing to global greenhouse gas emissions. These systems exploit natural resources, place profit goals ahead of long-term planetary stewardship, and marginalize and disempower local communities. By investing in community-led approaches to land management and food production we aim to address environmental destruction and the looming threat of food insecurity.
